Trigger is the terminology we use for the action that takes place to either add a connection or remove a connection from a user account. There are a variety of different triggers you can create, the one that works for you depends on the Card type you would like to use, i.e., Question Card, Video Card, or any other card type that accommodates Triggers. Be sure to read the Trigger Types article for a deeper understanding.
Triggers are used to add or remove a connection from a user's account. Eccencially, providing them with more content, or removing existing content. This can be helpful if you would like to provide more material to a user after they have completed reading a set of cards, or after they have answered a question. For example, You are able to create different sets of content that all have their unique connections, and depending on how a user answers questions presented to them, they will be given specific content, taking each user on a different learning journey.
The best practice is to create a schematic of the trigger paths in a PowerPoint document or similar. This way, you have a map of which triggers, adds/removes what content, and are able to reference it in the future. Make sure to title and label the schematic thoroughly and title/label the actual triggers and content the same. The schematic is your key to understanding the trigger system.
Using triggers properly can be very beneficial to your user, and provide depth to your content. This is a somewhat advanced technique of the content creation process, so do not get discouraged if you do not understand the process right away, we are here to help, so please reach out to our support team if you have any questions or would like to set up a demo of how triggers work! support@flip.app
